I like the artwork which called SCIENTIST WUJINGXIONG. It was made by Wu Weishan. This artwork was made in 2002. The sculpture is a person’s head. This man called Wu Jingxiong. He is a scientist. This artwork was made by white marble. It is white. Artist used curve and straight lines. The subject of this artwork is Wu Jingxiong. The man is smiling friendly and kindly. He is about 50 years old. He frowns slightly. He has two dimples. The right dimple is higher than the left one. His following lip is thick than the above one. His face is chubby. His skin is smooth. His ears are big. His hair is short, and a little curled. He looks like a kind grandmother.
This art work makes me feel harmonious and calm. Actually, when I saw this artwork, I thought this person must be an old woman. This person looks friendly, and he smiles sweetly. However, he is a man. This artwork reminds me of my grandmother. They are almost the same. You can notice that Wu’s smile. His smile is the most attractive point in this artwork. A warm smile makes up a warm person. Because of this, it makes me think of my grandmother. My grandmother is so kind. She has put all her effort into taking care of my father and me. She worked hard, and she is honest. She always smiles to me. Her smile is the most beautiful one in that I have seen. The artist wants to stand out Wu’s personality. He wants to tell us that Wu is a kind person. He is a great person.
I like this artwork very much, because this artwork can make me think of my grandmother. When I saw this artwork, I knew it must be the best. This artwork can warm people. Wu’s smile affects me. My grandmother is the kindest person in our family. She never quarrels. She uses her smile to show her love. I think other people might appreciate this artwork, because everyone likes peace. When they see this art, they might also think of their grandparents or the kindest person that they have seen. The most important is they feel warm from the artwork.
This exhibition was interesting. I really had a good time at Nanjing University. As a Chinese artist, Wu Weishan’s shows the Chinese culture to the world. He let more and more people know the Chinese sculpture. Chinese sculptures always stand out the spirit of the objects. Wu Weishan uses his soul to find the spirit of the object. He shows the Chinese spirit to the world. I know that we should work hard. We should put all of our effort into our work, so that we can be successful. I learnt a lot from the exhibition.
