THE EXHIBITION IN NANJING MUSEUM

Sherry and I went to an exhibition at Nanjing Museum on March 14th. We arrived at museum at 2 o'clock. The exhibition shows Chinese culture in the past. There are a lot of interesting things be shown. I am proud of my ancestors after I saw the exhibition. Everything is miracle.

The first artwork of my favorite is carving jade picture. Carving jade picture is the process of making jade. The first step is to pick up jade from the river or the stream. The second step is to cut some useless part of the jade. The third step is to cut a big jade to small pieces. The fourth step is to shape the jade. After polishing the jade, the jade can be sold.

I also like the artwork called Kwan-yin. The museum makes a beauty of distance. We cannot touch the artwork. This artwork was 2 meters away from us. We just can see the artwork from a special glass.I was shook by its beauty.

The artwork called Screen in Gold Lacquer was made in Qing Dynasty. It was made by people but not machine. It shows many details about rich people’s life. I believe the artist used many years to finish this artwork. The cutting skill is vivid. It shows at least 11 people. Each person has different appearances. The trees and leaves are around them. There also have three gloriettes and rocks. All the detials make the artwork wonderful.

After saw the exhibition in Nanjing Museum, I find that artists use their artwork to show their world. Art is fantastic.

Babela

Sherry and I went to an Italian restaurant on Feb 6th. The restaurant called Babela. We ate lunch there. We went to Babela because the price was not every high and we also want to try Italian food.

The restaurant is very big. We chose a table beside the window. There were some advertisements on the table. The advertisements said that they provided several set meals. The set meals were cheaper than normal. The set meals had soup, a glass of juice, pasta and dessert. They had a special service. If I order a glass of juice, I can just pay the price of one glass, but I can drink as many as I want. It’s really a good service. However, there was one thing made me unhappy. The waitresses couldn’t hear us because the restaurant is too big. We almost shouted out.

The famous dish in Babela is pasta. The Italian pasta is famous in China. Pasta is different from Chinese noodle. They look the same, but pasta is harder than Chinese noodle. It had cream and mushroom in the pasta. It tasted good. In china, we eat noodle with chopsticks. The western people use forks to eat pasta. If you use chopsticks to eat pasta, someone will laugh at you. The culture is different.

Different areas have different culture. Culture is such a beautiful thing. We should know other areas’ culture, so that we can live better in this society. To know the difference between cultures, we can search on the internet, read books and also go to the western restaurant.
